Equinix SYD 4
The Equinix SY4 data centre provides colocation services to their clients with colocations Data Halls having a usable floor space of 12,500 Sqm and full capacity of 3000 Cabinets in total, over 2 levels. The facility is design to provide N+1 redundancy on electrical and mechanical services.
Barnwell Cambridge was engaged to complete Stage 1 of the project with John Holland Group and Stage 2 with A W Edwards, which included the base building, cold shell and fit outs for some customers. The facility includes an administration area, “state of the art” client meeting rooms, amenities and workspaces containing architectural lighting, audio visual and security.
The level of monitoring and control of the facility is exceptional with an internal local command centre (LOCC) that provides facility engineers with real time status of all electrical and mechanical plant including lighting control. The lighting within this facility is controlled by a complete customised Dali lighting control system including the emergency light monitoring. Within colocations, there are over 1500 light fittings all with the ability and flexibility to provide induvial lighting control per cage and check status of all sensors and emergency lights on a daily basis. All technical spaces have bespoke Blue LED lighting to meet Equinix Global standard themes.

The Stage 1 of the project was recognised as a State Finalist at the NECA industry awards and honoured with a ‘Certificate of Commendation’ for the high level of quality and finished provided.
